New Patients

New patients are often referred to Dr. Kirk Sutton by other dental practitioners. However, we encourage any new patients to call our office directly to arrange for a consultative appointment.

Once your appointment is scheduled, you will need to prepare a bit of information for us ahead of time so we are fully prepared to assist you when you arrive. Please complete our Health History Form by printing and completing at home or by arriving 15 minutes before your appointment. Please be aware we do not take assignment of dental insurance, but are most happy to complete forms, so that you can be reimbursed for any coverage that your plan may provide.

On arriving you will enter a calm and comfortable environment with a beautiful 9th floor view of the North Shore Mountains, False Creek, Yaletown, and the downtown vistas. We try to schedule our appointments individually, with no other patients or interruptions, so we can give you our complete attention.

The First Appointment

The first appointment is an opportunity for us to meet you, and to learn as much as we can about the oral problems that you may be experiencing, and the circumstances that may have given rise to these problems or that influence their management. It is also an opportunity for you to meet us, and to discover the resources that are available to support any treatment that you may require. In order to expedite communication, it may be helpful if you have listed questions that you may have prior to your visit. You might also consider providing a written outline of the sequence of events leading up to your visit, and a list of medications that you may be taking. In this manner, we can be sure that your questions are all answered, and that we get all of the information that we require in order to develop an appropriate treatment plan.

Consultation appointments are approximately one hour and the cost for this appointment is $210. At this appointment you can expect a full head and neck examination together with a complete oral examination and charting. Following the examination possible treatment solutions can be discussed (with correspondence to follow) together with a treatment plan and estimate of costs.

Treatment Planning

In treatment planning, it may be necessary to make radiographic films (x-rays) and impressions of the mouth for study models. This can be discussed and the appropriate appointments can be made for you to have these taken.

When you receive your customized treatment plan, together with an estimate of cost, we strongly advise that a second consultation be booked. Any questions you may have can be discussed at this time and the planning and sequence of treatment can be better understood. In most cases, the study models and x-rays will also be available at this time which are helpful in understanding any complexities that may exist in your plan. We also discuss possible modifications to treatment that you may be interested in depending on your personal needs and priorities. This second appointment is a courtesy and comes at no charge.

Our office is wheelchair accessible. For our hours and location, please view our Contact Information.
